Who: Children ages 7-12 years old What: Exercise, Swimming, Games and Nutrition Where: UltraFit Midtown and The Clarendon Hotel When: Camp will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:00 PM
Monday camp will be held Poolside at the Clarendon Hotel at 4th Ave and Clarendon just south of Indian School. Kids will be able to splash and play under adult supervision. Kids will also learn about basic exercises they can do in a pool as well as how a pool can be helpful to strengthen muscles and bones safely while they are still growing.
One unique aspect of UltraFit Kids Camp is our one day a week nutritional discussion. We will teach the kids about basic nutrition. They will learn about healthy foods and snacks and how good eating habits will improve their overall health. They will determine how to recognize the early signs of poor health and what they can do to prevent it. We will teach them the importance of lifestyle change and healthy eating habits vs. dieting and restrictive consumption.
Rather than allowing your child’s brain to be on summer vacation, why not challenge it to grow and develop through healthy physical habits? Blood flow to the brain, increased neurotransmitters, optimized hormonal balance and focused discipline can help your child optimize their performance in every aspect of their life.
If you are searching for something fun and informative for your kids to do over the summer then look no further. We will give your child a great summer program and the tools to change their life forever.
The American College of Sports
Children and adolescents can participate in strength training programs provided that they have the emotional maturity to accept and follow directions. Strength training should be one part of a well-rounded fitness program that also includes endurance, flexibility and agility exercises. If appropriate guidelines are followed, it is the opinion of ACSM that strength training can be enjoyable, beneficial and healthy experience for children and adolescents.
The American Academy of Pediatricians
1. Strength training programs for preadolescents and adolescents can be safe and effective if proper resistance training techniques and safety precautions are followed. 2. Preadolescents and adolescents should avoid competitive weight lifting, power lifting, body building, and maximal lifts until they reach physical and skeletal maturity.
